April Event - A Day in the Life of…
A Day in the Life of…
Not every day is a huge adventure. In fact, some days are just like all the others. Granted, life in The Library is not exactly ‘normal’, but there are days just like any other. Which means the small tasks still needs to be done. Pick a job, carry out your life… What is your everyday life like in The Central Library?1. You have started a job or trade and help out in any way you can. Maybe you are teaching defense. Maybe you are simply learning it. You will need it! After all, just because there is nothing big happening doesn’t mean there might not be something like a bugbear waiting around the corner you’ll need to kill.
2. The books are scattering like roaches when you turn the light on! It’s horrible! They seem to find their current nesting spots on their shelves unsuitable! It needs to be cleaned up and the books need to be put back where they belong. Mind you… they are skittish and they will run from you!
3. People need to eat around here… are you a good cook? Some really aren’t… so why not help out with dinner? Nothing like planning for a… sort of… family meal. If you can’t cook, go to the market and find ingredients. Doing a little shopping is a nice way to pass the day.
4. Maybe you are the dodging work type. Maybe you really didn’t want to clean shelves or work. Well! There are always the baths or having tea in one of the atriums. (You could always play some pranks on the other patrons as well. It’s all in fun and getting to know each other, of course.)
5. Is work and cooking too mild for you? Training is simply not needed, you say? Then go hunting for monsters in the darker places of the Library. Just be careful not to wander too far… it’s easy to get lost in the darkness.
6. With the arrival of great pets comes great responsibility! And the need for pet-sitters who are willing to make sure they’re all happy and healthy. Walk the dogs! Play with the cats! Watch out for the ducks! And keep them out of trouble if you can.
7. Wild card! Feel free to come up with something else to fill up your day and have fun (or not!).

Re: Chasing After Books
"There probably aren't wizards in your world, then - well, not ones that use the Speech, anyway," she replied calmly.
She noticed that speed - she wasn't going to comment, though. Not yet, anyway. If this turned out to be a "Hey, I know you, you're a comic book character!"-type scenario, she didn't want to be rude about it. Bad first impression, there.
Or, second impression, at this rate.
Re: Chasing After Books
"Only wizard I know about is Harry Potter and he's not real...at least not here," Barry says, "unless you've met him then well I'll have to eat my words which I do a lot."
Re: Chasing After Books
Nita would give Eddie a good scratching behind the ears, if he let her, before standing back up.
"On to the next loose book, then?"
Re: Chasing After Books
Eddie barks and dashes ahead sniffing out for the next book. "I'm Barry Allen," the young man says, "you're new right?"
Re: Chasing After Books
"I'm Nita Callahan. And yeah, I am."
She had a feeling she was going to be saying that a lot in this place.
Re: Chasing After Books
Barry grins and grips her hand firmly and quickly. "Don't worry you'll get the hang of the place quickly enough." He lets her hand go. "I've been here six months and I'm still finding out things about this place."
Re: Chasing After Books
"I've been a wizard for a couple of years, and I don't know all there is to know about being one, so I can get that.
"What's it been like being here, though?"
Re: Chasing After Books
"It's very not boring," Barry says, "unicorns happened...and I was stuck in a fairy tale that was weird."
Re: Chasing After Books
"In a fairy tale? Did you- go in one of these books, or was it something else?"
If these books were supernatural in origin, then them also being portals wouldn't be far-fetched.
