Angling his head curiously at that, he gave a slight nod. "It is only fair you know what is going on." Slowly moving to a spiral staircase, he descended quietly. "This is not simply a library. Consider it a catalog of doors. Doors to worlds and realities, each unique and unfazed by the other doors surrounding them. Or... that is how it has been for centuries into millenia."

Facing him from the bottom of the stairs, he motioned the room around. "There is little left that looks new and clean... much is falling into decay as so many worlds lose what is important. As they die, it infects other worlds that slowly start to fall apart in increased entropy.
